How much do rides cost?

Every ride anywhere on campus is just $5. No surge pricing, no hidden fees. LERI is built to be simple, predictable, and affordable for Rutgers students.

How is LERI different from Uber or Lyft?

LERI is a campus ride marketplace, not a traditional ride-hailing service. Drivers post their routes in advance, and passengers choose which rides to join. If no driver is going where you need, you can check back later when new rides are posted. This model makes rides more affordable and allows students to plan ahead.

How does LERI keep students safe?

Safety is built into everything we do:

  • Rutgers-only access: NetID, Student ID, and Rutgers ID verification required.
  • Social profiles: See year, major, clubs, and more before booking.
  • Mandatory ratings: All users rate each other after every ride, providing a student reference network.
  • Full choice: You pick your driver and they choose their passengers — you're never in a car you didn't choose.

As a female driver/passenger, can I choose to ride with only other women?

How do I become a driver?

Sign up as a driver in the app, verify your student status and driver's license, and start posting your routes. You'll earn money while helping fellow students get around campus.

What happens if my ride is cancelled?

If a driver cancels, you'll get an immediate refund no matter the situation. Our cancellation policy ensures drivers stay reliable.

How does payment work?

All payments are made through the app and are handled securely through Stripe. Passengers pay when booking, and drivers receive their earnings after the ride, no cash needed.
